Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT TYPE OF STEEL IS USED ON SORD FILLET KNIVES?
All SORD fillet knives are made using carbon steel. This is a hard steel that allows for superior edge retention, so you can spend more time cutting and less time sharpening.
WHAT IS THE COATING ON MY KNIFE?
Our knives are coated in teflon and titanium to prevent corrosion while being used in saltwater.
WHAT IS THE MATERIAL OF MY KNIFE HANDLE?
Our knife handles are made out of G10 which is a gun grip material. These are extremely durable and are slip resistant.
WHAT IS THE SHEATH THAT MY KNIFE COMES IN?
The knife comes with a custom-fitted kydex sheath that will lock the knife inside with a click. This sheath is outfitted with a belt clip that will clip onto a 5-gallon bucket or onto your fishing shorts without the need to wear a belt.
WHAT ANGLE IS THE BLADE SHARPENED AT?
The blade is hand sharpened to an angle between 18 and 20 degrees. We recommend sharpening all SORD knives to 20 degree angles.
